Int’l Author Call Out! Janet Gover – an Aussie living in London (and she writes Rural Romance too).9/6/2013
I’m delighted to have the opportunity to show Janet off (or am I showing off that I know her?). It’s as though we’ve swapped countries – talking to Janet brings back so many wonderful memories of the life I lived in London – all those years ago! Janet’s bio: I grew up on the Darling Downs – west of Toowoomba. I lived in a one-horse town – in fact, I owned the one horse. After studying at Uni of QLD, I became a TV journalist, working in front of and behind the camera. I went to live/work in Hong Kong for a couple of years – where I met an Englishman with green eyes… so now I divide my time between London and Queensland. (I love Little Black Dress covers!) The Blurb: Bec O'Connell returns to her home town of Farwell Creek to help her friend Hailey adjust to the tragic loss of her parents. She finds that everything has changed. As a teenager she was desperate to escape to the big city – but now she's beginning to think Farwell Creek is the right place for her after all. Stricken by grief, Hailey is struggling to hold on to her parent's legacy. Their third 'musketeer' and Bec's first love, Nick Tate has seen the banks seize his family property. The B&S Ball the trio organise as a fundraiser for the town's bush fire brigade brings new men into Bec and Hailey's lives… but is new necessarily better? Can Nick reclaim the girl he has never stopped loving? The only thing she loves better than winning in court is her sexy red Lotus sports car. Preparing for the gruelling Snowy Mountains Car Rally, Alex isn't expecting competition in the form of glamorous model Lyn Stanton. Lyn is everything Alex is not: blonde, gorgeous and girlie - and she's also navigating the race for Keir Thomas, the man who left town and broke Alex's heart eleven years ago. Keir is no longer the young stockman who fell in love with the boss's daughter… he's a successful race horse trainer and never expected to see Alex again. When the three are unexpectedly thrown together, Alex realises she must find a way to trust Keir again to have any chance of crossing the finish line first. Will they be able to confront their troubled past and rediscover not only their shared passion for cars, but also for each other? Hi Jennie, thanks for having me over. I will wave at London for you next time I walk across Waterloo Bridge at sunset. 9/6/2013 11:16:35 am
I have read and enjoyed some of Janet's novels and this one is waiting on my TBR pile. I love reading about the Australian outback ever since I discovered Lucy Walker as a teenager. 9/6/2013 12:06:42 pm
My Mum introduced me to Lucy Walker when I was quite young. I loved her books - it give me something to aspire to. Janet 9/6/2013 11:36:42 am
At the moment, I've loved Janet's earlier books and am very much looking forward to the first to be published by Choc Lit. 9/6/2013 12:08:48 pm
Hi Liz - nice to see you here. When your new book is written, we might even make you an honorary Aussie. J X

Good morning from Australia, ladies! This is what happens with 'international' call outs. I go to bed, and you're all up chatting. Janet, please also wave to the pretty Albert Bridge? Gwen and Liz - how wonderful to know that you love reading Ozzie rurals, and about the outback. Best of luck with the TBR pile and the writing. Comments are closed.
