It’s a total thrill to at last let tell you about new stories I worked on last year with two amazing writing colleagues who I’d work with again – any day! At the start of 2014 Catherine Evans, debut rural romance author, Lisa Ireland, a wonderful new voice in rural romance, and Jennie Jones (me) had an idea. “A dying town, a desperate plan, and dreams that can be bought for a dollar…” Suddenly, lots of thoughts were flying across Australia via email and our town was born, along with the problems it faced. By the end of 2014 – we’d written three new rural stories all set in one town: Dulili, in the heart of country NSW. We wove our voices, styles and scenarios around the theme of hope and rejuvenation and created one town with three different stories of people looking for a chance, looking for a dream and hoping for something more... A Heart Stuck on Hope was the first story I wrote away from five books set in fictional Swallow’s Fall, so it was quite a challenge to get my head out of that lovely town in the Australian Snowy Mountains, and into a brand new town, called Dulili (which means Together). But I managed it... Anthology blurb: A dying town, a desperate plan, and dreams that can be bought for a dollar… Dusty, depressed Dulili, an outback farming town in New South Wales, Australia, is suffering a people drought. In a final attempt to save their beloved town, a group of locals put an innovative plan into action to entice newcomers, regenerate business, and replenish the population: for a dollar a week, approved applicants can rent properties in town in return for a bit of work, a bit of community, and a chance at a long-term connection. The challenge attracts three newcomers to Dulili, people looking for a chance at a new life. But what they don’t expect is how the town will change them: the dreams, the dramas, and the discoveries. After all, there are no secrets in a small town…and no hiding when it comes to matters of the heart. These three novels will be out in the first half of 2016. More information the the book blurbs for each story to follow. Jennie x Visit Lisa Ireland "Romantic fiction - where city meets country" on LisaIrelandBooks.com
