Taking time out from writing (just wrote a First Kiss scene – always so tricky because it has to mean much more than the kissing, it has to mean something very important to both the characters and the story) to say - DELIGHTED to announce that contract signed and delivered for the 4th book in the #SwallowsFall series:
It’s about Lily Johnson (Mrs J’s daughter! Remember the pig she walked around on a lead?) and Nick Barton, newcomer to town who’s a custom knife-maker, an adept mechanic, and an ex Australian Navy Clearance Diver (he’s gorgeous!). Lily is working hard to keep herself and her two teenage children going, with a sense of family unity, even though she divorced their father years ago. She has a dream too – an impossible dream to turn the empty corner shop on Main Street into Turnaround Treasures for all the 2nd hand curios and furnishings she collects and turns into chic country items.
I loved writing this story. Set around Easter (autumn/fall for Australia), most of the characters from the other books turn up to have a say, like Mrs Tam, and Sammy from The House on Burra Burra Lane. (Ted’s in a bunny costume this time – good old Ted), and you’ll also discover what’s happened to Dan & Charlotte from THE HOUSE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL.
Release date to come, but I believe it will out in May 2015. Cover reveal to come too (can’t wait to see what Harlequin's Escape Publishing have done for me this time).
Feel free to leave a comment here, or ask a question - I love hearing from you on Twitter and FB and I'd love to see you here too.
Now – back to that First Kiss scene…
