![]() (This is one busy young woman - I had to have her over at the manor a day early or miss out on interviewing her.) Welcome Whitney K-E, youngest author I know. Smart, bubbly, strawberry-blonde whirling dervish and writer of wholeheartedly welcomed heroes who have a wayward, winning manner that will keep our hearts whoop-de-doing beyond The End … (They’re Irish - says it all, huh?) When Australian, Kate Barrow, meets a handsome Irishman in a Dublin bar, she has no idea that he’s about to turn her world upside-down and inside-out. In Ireland to take on a position on a thoroughbred stud, Kate is shocked when her manager-in-co reveals himself to be the same man she’d met in Dublin. Jack is drawn to Kate. The problem is, she won't have him. But Jack has always loved a challenge and the intriguing woman from Oz is one he cannot resist. Harbouring the sting of another man’s betrayal, Kate is certain she wants nothing to do with love and nothing to do with Jack O’Reilly. But when naked torsos, Mother Nature and dysfunctional umbrellas start plotting against her resolve, she realizes the charms of an Irishman are going to be hard to resist. Take it away, Whitney: Are there cowboys or country manors in any of your stories? There’s a country manor for sure, though I’m not sure Mr Jack O’Reilly would consider himself a cowboy. ☺ He’s Irish, that's cowboy enough for me, Whitney! Will you tell us about yourself and what genre(s) you love writing? See what I mean? Gorgeous, fiesty looking, SMART strawberry-blonde with passion and dedication at heart. (Steady boys, there's a queue!) I go wherever my muse takes me. ☺ I love writing contemporary (rural and mainstream), historical, and I’ve even had a go at a paranormal. But right now I’m focusing on my contemporary Irish series and my Australian rural romance What writing project did you put aside to answer these questions? Going through the ARC (Author Review Copy) for What Happens in Ireland (haha). And now here I am at your country manor and What Happens in Ireland is live and up for purchase! (See below for where to buy...) What are books for? Escaping into! I love that if life is giving me lemons or is just plain boring, I can always find something exciting to lose myself in. Will you name one entity you feel supported you outside of family members? My friends and fellow bloggers at The Romantic Muse, which include yourself! I can’t count the times you girls have saved me from throwing in the towel. And vise versa! There is nothing like the support of your writing group of friends. Do you see writing as a career? I’ve never seen it as anything but. I think everyone wants to make a career out of something they love. So from day one, I’ve always worked towards making writing a career. ![]() She doesn’t see it as anything but a career! Way to go, Whitney. If you ask for my opinion (I’m giving it anyway), Ms Whitney K-E is on the road to a successful career as a writer. Take note young aspiring writers - this young woman knew what she wanted to do and has proved it can be done. Thank you, Whitney, for popping in during your hectic Release Month schedule! Sorry you couldn’t stay for dinner, but I understand you’re off to do another three interviews after this one (which was number twelve out of fifteen - the girl’s in demand!). A word from Whitney … GIVEAWAY: Leave a comment on this blog post or any of the other blog posts celebrating the release of Whitney’s debut and go in the draw to win one of two prize packs including a PDF of What Happens in Ireland, a handmade ribbon bookmark designed by Swagmaster Designs and a coffee mug. Where to read excerpts or buy Whitney’s novel What Happens in Ireland As always, Jennie recommends readers purchase (or pre-order) the titles of their dreams and support the writers who have taken the time to answer these questions. Writing is hard work and not for the faint-hearted - but so joyful for the reader. What would we do without books (and writers)?
Feel free to leave a pleasant comment, we’d love to hear from you! Jennie & Whitney 10/5/2013 02:14:16 am

I love that term, Elizabeth - 'Lost daughters to cheeky Irishmen'. I think Whitney will fully understand that, having written about so many. She was over in Ireland earlier this year - I'm just glad we got her back! And you'll love her novel.
